Refund Policy
We highly recommend that you make reservations ahead of time. It ensures that we’ll be able to get you on a load that day of your choosing, which is especially critical on busy weekends as we’re often booked solid. We understand that you may have a last-minute change of plans and need to reschedule.
As a courtesy, you’re able to call and change your reservation up to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. If, for example, you are scheduled to jump with us at 10 a.m. on Friday, you must call us and make those changes before 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, we have no control over the weather. That’s one of the risks of participating in a sport that is weather dependent.
Refunds, Cancellations, and Re-scheduled Jumps:
Due to the nature of our business, we have a very strict reschedule/cancellation policy. We plan our fuel consumption and staffing based on reservations, and we hold your place on our airplane based on your reservation for a specific time period. Please read very carefully the following explanation of our refund and cancellation policy, as well as fees that are charged for various changes or failure of students to comply with instructions.
ANY JUMP TICKET or THIRD PARTY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE , but it is transferable in case of inclement weather or with in a 48 hours notice. Transferable means you can just reschedule your jump to another date up to one year after your original booking date or have someone else to use your ticket, whether you sell or give it away.
ONLY VIP Tandem jump is fully refundable up to 180 days with 12 hours notice, minus $30 office fee. VIP jump cannot be combined with discounted jumps.
The students do not make any jump determinations on weather. All weather decisions are made by Skydive Houston pilots and instructors. In the case of inclement weather, clouds, or high winds, you will be notified via text message, email or phone call, with specific instructions, usually 2 hours prior to your scheduled jump.
If you are booking for a party, it is your responsibility to ensure that all participants understand and are in compliance with our policies and restrictions.
Gift Certificates and Vouchers:
All reservations and Gift Certificates purchased through Skydive Houston are good for one year and are fully transferable. Expired Gift Certificates and Jump Vouchers can be redeemed up to 1 year for an additional $100 per person.
Please do not buy the discounted jump ticket if you are not sure that you and other people in your party are available to skydive at any other day and time.
All 3rd party vouchers are subject to change due to weather, availability and flightload minimum (2 students in the airplane). 3rd party vouchers are only valid on weekdays (Monday-Friday). If you would like to use it on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) or holiday an additional fee will be charged.
All 3rd party vouches are good only for the stated Promotional Value Term and must be used before promotional expiration . This includes rescheduling due to inclement weather or unplanned aircraft maintenance. Expired 3rd. party vouchers can be redeemed for an additional $100 per person*. Avoid limited promotional expiration dates and deal direct.
Fees:
Failure to show for a scheduled appointment will result in loss of deposit/full payment/voucher! Last minute reschedule may incur a $50 reschedule fee*! All reservations are made for CENTRAL TIME! Show up at your scheduled time, not early or late!
A jumper may place a current reservation on hold or may reschedule the reservation at no additional charge as long as the jumper calls our main office to notify us at least 48 hours prior to the current reservation. If a reservation is placed on hold or rescheduled with less than a 24 hours notice, a late cancellation fee of $50* per person will be charged upon arrival.
If a jumper arrives late for a reservation and checks in after their scheduled check-in time, a late check-in fee of $50* per person will be charged upon arrival. This fee is non-negotiable.
If a jumper arrives at their check-in time without having filled out a waiver, a $50 fee will be charged. This delay backs up our entire schedule. This fee is non-negotiable.
Any jumper weighing over 200 lbs but under the maximum student weight will be charged a $35 heavy fee. This fee goes directly to the instructor, who must exert considerable extra effort to land with heavier students. Your weight is determined by our commercial-grade scale. Neither the displayed weight or the fee are negotiable.
Students who have departed in the airplane and decide not to follow through with completing the skydive forfeit all monies paid for their skydive. Fortunately this is a very rare occurrence, but you will not be refunded any payments in the event you choose to not go through with your jump.
Skydive Houston reserves the right to refuse service to any customer who has been deemed by our instructors, pilots or office staff that have been deemed to be an unsafe risk to themselves and/or others for any reason whatsoever. This includes, but is not limited to, being less than at least 18 years old or older, exceeding our maximum weight limit, wearing inappropriate attire, and being under the influence of intoxicating/inebriating substances, including alcohol and/or other drugs/narcotics (both legal and illegal). No refunds are issued to jumpers that have prepaid in full or have been geared up and are denied service for any reason deemed to be an unsafe risk to themselves and/or others. Instead, the jumper may reschedule their reservation for another date for a $50* cancellation fee or transfer it to another jumper for a $50 transfer fee*.
All reservations and gift certificates bought Directly From Skydive Houston are NON refundable.
Video and Photo Packages:
Video and photo packages may be refunded for any reason whatsoever at any point up until you are geared up or thirty minutes prior to your scheduled flight, whichever comes first.
The only time a full refund may be issued for a video and photo package is if the entire package is not up to our standards. This full refund is our apology for not being able to provide you with any part of a video and photo package.
No refunds will be given for media because the customer doesn’t like the footage or feels it is not flattering. Cameras are rolling in an intense environment and not all footage captured is Instagram-worthy! It is meant to capture your experience as it unfolds, in real-time.
Under no circumstances do we release or sell raw video footage.
Momentary loss of focus on the student for mandatory handle-checks by the instructor in freefall does not constitute lost freefall footage. This portion of your jump is the only portion covered by our refund policy, and the other aspects of your experience are captured as conditions allow. Safety is always our primary concern. If conditions exist where your instructor must use both hands to safely complete your jump, they will focus first and foremost on safety, and defer capturing media.
We capture video and photos of every jumper who skydives with us. This is for our own record-keeping as well as to provide our students with the opportunity to purchase media at a later date. However, no hardware storage solution is fool-proof and we can make no guarantees that your footage/photos will be retrievable at a later date. It is always best to order media at the time of your jump, and save your media in a secure location once delivered. No compensation or discount is made for media lost due to hardware failure which is out of our control.
Unfortunately no, you can’t share your video. Say you come to jump with one of your friends – it’s not possible for one Instructor to film both of you at the same time.
That’s because you jump separately to each other. Though we’ll do our best to get you up in the same airplane, when it comes time to jump, one of you will go first, the other second, with a good 10-15 seconds between you.
Plus, having your own personal camera Instructor is way better than sharing anyway! You’ll have your own personal moment of your incredible experience to treasure forever.
All prices are subject to change without notice. Skydive Houston does not charge hidden fees or extra surcharges. The UPT Video provided with the waiver shows their refund policy, not ours. No Refunds, No Exception , All Sales are Final.
*ANY ADDITIONAL COST/ AND OR FEES SUCH AS: EXPIRATION FEES, LATE FEES, ETC. ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE. Our office staff do not have the authority to waive any fees.
